Reuse Market
What is Reuse Market?
The Reuse Market is the flagship event within the Office of Sustainability’s Reuse, Renew, Repair Series: a collection of mending and upcycling workshops designed to foster a circular economy on campus. Organized during move-in week each year, the Reuse Market redistributes student donations collected during the previous semester’s Green Move-Out, and makes dormitory essentials items like lamps, rugs, fans, storage caddies, and desk organizers available at no cost to students in an open-air market setting.
How it works
Come to Reuse market to furnish your dorm sustainably with FREE gently used household goods, office supplies, kitchen items, and more. All items available were collected during the previous Green Move-Out. Items are all first come, first serve, and all free for the GW community!
Impact
Since the first annual Reuse Market in 2023, this event has helped divert over 17,000 pounds of household items from the landfills!
This initiative is only made possible through the support of students, staff, and faculty volunteers!
