Marketing and Communications Internship - UNPAID - Fall 2019 and Spring 2020

The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital (DCEFF) is the world’s premier showcase of environmental films. We are in search of a Marketing and Communications Intern to be part of a creative, dedicated team that works together to produce this major annual cultural event, plus a year-round schedule of programs and educational events for the Washington, D.C. metro. The internship runs from September through December, or January through April, although preference may be given to candidates who can commit to for an entire academic year from September-April. The internship would require 10-20 hours per week, with additional hours necessary in the run-up and during the Festival (March 12-22, 2020).

FUTURE PARK LEADERS of EMERGING CHANGE--PAID-- Summer 2020

The National Park Service (NPS) is pleased to support the Future Park Leaders of Emerging Change (FPL) internship program as a pathway for exemplary students in higher education (advanced undergraduate students and graduate students) to apply their skills and ideas to park-based challenges and solutions. The program offers 12-week paid internships which allow students to gain valuable work experience, explore career options, and develop leadership skills through mentorship and guidance while helping to advance NPS efforts on emerging management issues. Successful students may be eligible for non- competitive hire into federal positions for which they qualify following completion of all academic requirements. Applications are due by 5:00 PM EST, January 24th, 2020.

Program Assistant Internship - UNPAID - Fall 2019 and Spring 2020

The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) is currently seeking applicants for our fall and spring Program Assistant Internships. These internships will be for 20-32 hours/week, Monday through Thursday and run from September through Mid-December in the fall, and January though Early May in the Spring. Our internships offer a great opportunity to engage in advocacy, programming, communications, and operations in a non-profit office environment. As well, our office is connected with many Untied Nations Agencies and likeminded organizations in DC, offering unmatched networking opportunities.

Data and File Management Internship - UNPAID - Fall 2019 and Spring 2020

Anacostia Riverkeeper is interested in applications from undergraduate students for an unpaid internship in our office by Yards Park. Times and total hours negotiable but expect ~two half days or more, ~10+ hrs a week through the fall semester. Duties will primarily be data entry and file management but there will be opportunities to assist with volunteer cleanups, outreach at tabling events, and to join/organize boat tours. Sustainability Interns - PAID - Spring/Summer 2020 (6 months)

The DCSEU works to connect District residents who are new to the workforce, between jobs, or looking for a career change with local contractors in the green economy. Twice a year, the DCSEU connects District residents with 6-month green externships working with local contractors and other organizations. Externs gain marketable job skills, certifications and work experience, and receive job placement assistance to discover new careers in sustainability. Eclectic Institute's Budding Herbalist Internship - PAID - Summer 2020

For 10 weeks, 6 interns live, work, and study together on our organic medicinal herb farm in Sandy, OR. Interns help on the farm 4 days per week in exchange for 8-10 hours a week of classes about sustainable herbalism, herbal extractions & formulations, and decolonizing herbalism. There are no direct costs associated with this program and interns will receive free lodging in our farmhouse. 2019 - 2020 Alaska Fellows Program

The Alaska Fellows Program, constituted by three fellowship sites in Anchorage, Juneau, and Sitka, is a near-year-long postgraduate fellowship program that places dynamic recent college graduates from around the country with organizations across Alaska. Fellows receive a modest living stipend, relocation stipend, and housing. Opportunities are posted throughout the year on a rolling basis. 

Cultural Resource Management AmeriCorps Position - PAID

The Appalachian Conservation Corps (ACC) is a non-profit, AmeriCorps-affiliated organization, whose mission is to connect young adults to meaningful conservation service.The Cultural Resource Management Individual Placement is based in Washington, D.C. with the National Park Service. This 6-month OR 8-month AmeriCorps position will work to provide resource-related support to the parks and partners in the National Capital Region. Individual Placements (IPs) will be given a range of office- and field-based work assignments as well as helpful supervision and mentoring.
